Darlene Heynen is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Multicultural Centre of the Yukon (Established 2010) and the Chief Executive Officer of the Yukon Tourism Education Council since 2001. Darlene has rich experience in running two not for profit organizations and has also ran a consulting business in Whitehorse (Eletta Consulting) for several years. Through Darlene's work she has expanded the settlement services offered to newcomers of Canada in the Yukon. She has also done extensive work in community engagement and organization in the Yukon. Darlene has served on many boards, has vast experience in grant research and proposal writing to sustain her own organizations, and is an experienced consultant. The highest honour Darlene received was an invitation to meet Prince William and Kate Middleton on their royal tour in the Yukon.

Outside of work Darlene is very involved in the community and spends most of her free time volunteering.
