About Katie Roy Bromansen
Katie obtained her Bachelor of Social Work Degree from the University of Calgary in 2019. Katie graduated with a 4.0 GPA, leading her to earn the subscript "with distinction" on her parchment.
Katie's work has ranged from front line work to consulting work and even to supporting international NGOs in Kenya and Brazil. On the front line and in consulting, Katie has a background working in long term care, hospitals, non-profit organizations, and government agencies. On an individual level Katie has worked with victims of crime, victims of sexualized assault and domestic violence, and people with disabilities.
Katie took a step back from front line social work to work as a "social worker behind the scenes" by offering her knowledge and expertise in a variety of consulting roles through Kedros. Katie has experience in grant research and proposal writing, policy analysis, data coordination and report writing. She has turned her focus to these areas.
Katie still offers support to individuals as a social worker by completing psychosocial assessments and acting as a systems navigator to connect people to resources. Katie feels this work is important as there is a gap in these services within Canada.

In Katie's free time she enjoys spending time with her soulmate (her spouse Rose), their two dogs (Bigsley- right and Salish-left), and their four cats! When weather permits, Katie can often be found camping, swimming in the rivers of Alberta or Rocky Mountain lakes, and enjoying the outdoors in any capacity. All year around she enjoys cooking up delicious meals, thrifting and collecting antiques, or when she's really lucky - travelling. Katie's previous travels to 30 countries before the age of 30 helped shape her perspective and worldview, allowing her to excel in the work she does.
